LANGUAGE IS CULTURE

Language is not only a way of communicating, but it can also reveal a lot about the culture of a people, its history and its mentality. This is why it is so important to integrate as far as possible a language and its structure with the everyday social and cultural life of a country.

Our aim is to offer more than just a simple language course. We try to provide a holistic course by combining language classes with a range of complementary courses that add a further interesting dimension to learning a language.

We offer great flexibility in course structure in order to cater for everyone: from holiday makers to those who want to study intensive courses. There is a whole variety of out of class activities to allow our students to appreciate Florence in a relaxed way as well as apply some of the language skills learnt in class.

OUR METHOD

Our first consideration is the requirements of each individual student. We believe flexibility is necessary to maximise the results each student will gain from our courses. Our teaching methods are based on modern communication techniques, and we have audiovisual and multimedia equipment to assist our students in acquiring a solid grammatical base.

All of our teachers are university graduates qualified to teach Italian as a second language. They are fully experienced, enthusiastic and dedicated to making your course an enjoyable and fruitful one.

Our class numbers will not exceed 7 students per class. We believe this is the number that gives the best results. We divide our courses into six levels to maximise meeting your individual needs.

The school also has its own linguistic laboratory with video and CD-Rom facilities to support your learning. These facilities are free of charge for all our students, even after class hours. We can also provide access to the internet for a small fee.

ACCOMMODATION

Good accommodation is essential to make your stay in Florence enjoyable. Our school can assist in finding suitable accomodation, ranging from rooms (single or double) in an apartment with other students or Italian families, in an apartment of your own, in a hotel, or in country houses just outside Florence. All accommodation has been carefully selected by our staff.

THE CITY

Florence is the native city of Dante, the father of Italian language. To this day, almost 700 years after his death, Florence still enjoys the unquestioned title of being the centre of the Italian language.

Florence is also the cradle of the Renaissance and the home of innumerable art treasures.

A short twenty minutes walk from the historical centre of the town will bring you to the hills where you can see the harmonious blending of nature and civilisation over the centuries. There is also the Tuscan countryside, famous for its characteristic rolling hills and art treasures , easily accessible by bus or train.
